What is the MPmobile App?

The MPmobile App is a tool especially for maintenance technicians in the field, which allows you to consult information about the equipment and record the usage readings and measurements of the equipment in the MP from a mobile device.

You can check from your mobile device:

  • General equipment information
  • Notes and pictures
  • Information regarding maintenance (date of the last maintenance, upcoming maintenance, open OT, etc.)
  • MPmobile will also inform you if the device requires the recording of a reading or a measurement.

You can register from your mobile device:

Download and install the MPmobile App

Look for the MPmobile App v.10 in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) and download it.

The number of users that can access MPmobile is unlimited and independent of the number of total access licenses you have purchased.

Connection of the MPmobile App with the MP databases

The information registered in the MP is stored in databases. Since the information registered in MPmobile must be synchronized with the information in the MP, it is necessary to create a connection to a database previously created in the MP.

In order to connect with your mobile device, the databases must be hosted on a local network with a connection to your mobile device, a web server or our cloud servers (MPcloud or MPhosting).

Database engine compatibility

  • MySQL
  • MariaDB
  • SQL Server

When running the App for the first time or when you want to create a new connection to a database, you must indicate the connection data to the databases to which you want to connect.

There are two ways to create a new connection.

The first, and the simplest is by scanning the QR code of the database with your mobile device.

The second is entering the connection data.

Connection by scanning the QR code from the database.

EXECUTE

When entering MP version 10 from your PC, select the option "start using my databases" and click next.

CONSULTATION

Secondary click on the database you want to connect to to check its information, a QR code will appear.

SCAN

When opening the MPmobile v.10 app on your phone, press the button to scan the QR code that appears when consulting the information in your database.

When executing any of the programs of the MP suite, the first thing that appears is a window asking the user to select the access of the database with which they want to work

With the secondary button you can consult the access information to each database.

This information is also recorded in a QR code, which will facilitate the connection of mobile devices to the database.

Scan the QR code that appears on your computer screen with your mobile device and voila!

Manual connection by entering connection data.

When selecting the button to enter connection data on your mobile device, you must indicate the access data to the server and the name of the database to which you want to connect.

Type of databases: indicate the database engine

Server name or IP: Enter the IP of the server where the database is hosted or the name of the server if it is on a local network.

Database username and password: Enter a database user with permissions to make connections.

For more information, see What is this?

Port: Enter the network port corresponding to the database

The connection data is saved on your mobile device.

Access to the App and selection of equipment

When running the MPmobile App, select from your existing connections the database you want to connect to.

Enter your MP username and password to access the database. The MP user is the one who registers in the database and user administrator in order to have access to the database in a safe and controlled manner. For more information, see Users of the databases created.

Check information about your teams from the MPmobile App

Select a device using the manual search option or by scanning the device's QR code. From the MP you can print a label or a card with the QR code of each team and physically stick it on the team.

By scanning the equipment's QR code from a mobile device, you can quickly consult its information and record readings and measurements from your mobile device.

With the manual search option you can search for a device by typing its code, its description or part of its description.

QR code printing from MP

To have quick access to your equipment by scanning its QR code, from the MP you can print said QR code and physically stick it on each equipment. The QR code will be unique for each team.

The intention of printing the QR codes is that they are physically located on the corresponding equipment so that the technician can scan the QR code of the equipment when in the field.

  1. In the MP team module select a team and click on the edit tool.
  2. Entering a code in the QR identifier will generate the code automatically. Usually the QR code is the same as the equipment code.
  3. To print the code of a device, select the device and in the toolbar select the option Print> print QR code.

Record usage readings

When entering the module Usage readings from the MPmobile the devices that are controlled by readings will be displayed.

You will be able to filter the equipment with overdue readings, pending today and pending this week. In this way, it will be easier for the field technician to find the equipment for which he must update the corresponding readings.

By selecting a team you will be able to register the new reading. The screen will display the last reading processed in the PM so that it can be compared with the current reading.

Once the reading is sent, it will be marked as pending processing by the MP.

What is a reading pending processing by the PM?

When sending a reading from your mobile device to the MP, the MP requires verifying that the value of this new reading is within the normal range of use of the equipment, that is, that the value of the recorded reading agrees with the estimated monthly use . It also verifies that the entered value is greater than the last recorded value, since it will not be correct to enter a lower reading than the last recorded reading.

Therefore, when a reading is sent to the MP from MPmobile, it must go through a verification step, where the MP verifies the entered values and, in case of finding a possible inconsistency, throws an alert, so that the maintenance manager can check that the entered value is correct.

Upon confirming that the value sent is correct, the PM will perform the calculations of the following routine maintenance and averages of monthly use considering the new readings entered.

When several readings are entered in MPmobile of a device and they have not been processed, only the last recorded reading will be shown in the MP for processing.

How to process the readings sent from MPmobile in the MP?

Enter the readings update module within the MP. In the readings update screen, readings entered through MPmobile will be marked with a mobile device icon.

These readings must be processed by the MP so that they are duly registered in the database. As long as this process is not carried out, the readings registered from the MPmobile will not modify the database.

When selecting update usage reading from the toolbar in the MP, the usage reading entered in MPmobile and the status of this reading (correct, incorrect or subject to review by a maintenance supervisor) will be displayed. Once the maintenance supervisor or administrator has confirmed that the reading recorded from the MPmobile is correct, the MP will record it in the database in a definitive way and will calculate the upcoming routine maintenance, as well as the adjustment in the monthly average. of use.

Record measurements from MPmobile

There are maintenance activities that involve taking a measurement, such as measuring temperature, vibration, thickness, insulation resistance, amperage, etc.

When entering the measurement module from MPmobile, the equipment will be shown with the activities that require taking a measurement.

The scheduled date of the measurement is given by the date on which the maintenance activity that requires the measurement must be carried out, considering the equipment maintenance plan.

You will be able to filter the equipment with overdue measurements, pending today and pending this week.

By selecting a device you will be able to record the new measurement of the device. The display will show the last measurement processed in the PM and the normal range of the measurement.

Once the measurement is sent, it will be marked as pending to be processed by the PM.

Measurement pending processing

The measurements entered in MPmobile must go through a second verification step within the MP, this in order to corroborate the measurement values, generate non-routine work orders if necessary and make the calculation of the next measurement take according to with the maintenance plan.

When several measurements are entered from the MPmobile of a device and they have not been processed, only the last recorded measurement will be shown in the MP for processing.

Process a measurement pending processing in the PM

Enter the MP measurement update module. The screen will show all the pending measurements of the selected equipment's activities.
The measurements entered in MPmobile will be marked with the cell phone icon. These are the measurements that must be processed within the PM.

When selecting the tool to record multiple measurements in the toolbar, the measurements entered from MPmobile will be automatically displayed on the mesh indicating the status of the measurement. In the event that the measurement value is out of bounds and a revision job is required, at the time of accepting the measurement, the maintenance manager may generate a non-routine job request.

By accepting the entered measurements, the MP will schedule the next measurement take according to the equipment maintenance plan.
