General considerations of the SENTINEL HASP SL (virtual dongle)
The SENTINEL HASP SL dongle (virtual dongle) is the responsible to control and access to the MP version 9 programs, it contains the licenses of the programs.
During the Sentinel HASP SL Installation Process, keep in mind the next considerations:
A) For single-user version of the MP. The SENTINEL HASP SL dongle, should be installed in the same computer where you are installing the MP.
B) For Network version of the MP. You can install the Sentinel HASP SL dongle in any server or in a network workstation, however once the dongle has been installed, the computer must be turn on, and connected to network in order to the users can access to the MP version 9 program.
C) If you have installed the SENTINEL HASP SL dongle and later you want relocate the dongle to another computer. Please perform the procedure described in the following link How to rehost the Sentinel HASP SL in other computer?
D) If the computer or the virtual machine where the SENTINEL HASP SL dongle was installed, is damaged. Please contact your local distributor or write to the email address sales@mpsoftwarecmms.com.
E) If you have installed the SENTINEL HASP SL dongle in a virtual machine and later you want to move the virtual machine. Before that relocate the virtual machine, you must move the virtual dongle to any other computer (Real or Virtual), once the virtual machine has been restored, you can bring back the SENTINEL HASP SL dongle to this virtual machine, please find to do that follow the next link How to rehost the Sentinel HASP SL in other computer?
F) If you want to install the SENTINEL HASP SL dongle on a server mirroring array. The SENTINEL HASP SL dongle is not compatible to install on a server array mirroring, you must use a SENTINEL HASP HL (USB Dongle) instead. G) Some antivirus or Windows services are preventing the proper installation of the SENTINEL HASP SL dongle. Probably during the installation process that some antivirus, firewall or services as Endpoint Protection Windows or Windows Defender they don't allow the proper installation of the SENTINEL HASP SL dongle, ensure these do not interfere with the installation process.
H) Compatibility. The SENTINEL HASP SL dongle is able to operate in network environments or locally, however, there are certain actions or configurations that are not supported by the dongle. Consider that the procedures performed to duplicate the SENTINEL HASP SL dongle (as cloning virtual machines with the dongle installed or generate backup images of hard disks) will result in that the dongle becomes disabled permanently due to cloning and therefore cannot access MP programs.
We strongly recommend that all the above procedures are performed by the system administrator.
