Regarding the name of the database: The name that you define cannot have blank spaces, and the maximum number of characters allowed is 25, for example, Plant Maintenance 1 instead use hyphens or underscores like this: Maintenance_Floor_1, In addition to this, it is not allowed that the name of your database carry special characters like these: ¡"#, $% & (?)?} {The reason is because there are some rules or policies that the database engines data prohibits the use of these characters.

You will have another field of up to 50 characters that will allow you a broader and more complete description of the database.

Example:

After you have created your databases in the MP, they are hosted on the Database Server you have chosen. For example, databases created through the simplified option are hosted on your computer, the path where you can find them is C: \ Windows \ SysWow64 or C: \ Windows \ System32. They are usually Files with the Extension.FDB

The databases created in the following types of databases: MariaDB, MySQL, SQL-Server, MPcloud and Oracle do not generate Files. The information is stored in multiple tables of information schemas or in special environments of your server.

Server IP, Database Engine username and password

Today practically all companies have at least one IT professional who is in charge of, among many other functions, managing the company's data and servers. Its functions include the administration of a database engine, to which for security reasons it has access by means of a username and password. Otherwise, any person could enter the network and register databases, consult, modify and even delete confidential information of the company.

When creating a database or a new connection in the MP, the program requests the name of the server or IP where the database to which you want to connect will be created or located, as well as a username and its password.

The username and password that are requested here are precisely those that allow access to the database engine with privilege permissions to create the database.

However, the database administrator can also create different user accounts to allow access to more people by granting them custom permissions and privileges.

In order not to use the IT administrator user and its respective password each time the maintenance department needs to create a database or a connection to an existing database, it is recommended that the IT administrator create an account of specific user for the maintenance department.

A single user account to the database engine is sufficient for the creation and connection of multiple databases.

The username and password that are requested here, has no relationship with the licenses of use acquired or with the number of users who will be able to access the database, so a single user account may be sufficient, since in this case expressly refers to the username and password of the database engine.

What is a database access?

When you create a database, an access to the database is automatically created. The access is a file that contains encoded all the information regarding the IP or name of the server where the database is located. This information is also recorded in a QR code, which will facilitate the connection of mobile devices to the database.
